Director of the South Bohemian Regional Authority manages the Regional Authority, represents it in public, decides on personnel matters and remuneration policies, and is accountable for the performance of delegated powers.

The Regional Authority performs tasks within the sphere of its independent powers set by the elective bodies of the region (the Regional Council and the Regional Assembly). These tasks are defined by law as performance of independent powers. The law additionally recognizes performance of delegated powers. As far as performance within the delegated powers is concerned, the regional authority reports to state administration authorities (especially the relevant ministries) that charge the regional authority with state administration tasks.

Section of Foreign Relations

The foreign relations of the South-Bohemian Region and their coordination are dealt with by the Section of Foreign Relations. The Section of Foreign Relations is mainly responsible for establishing, enlarging and coordination of foreign relations of the South-Bohemian Region and for the implementation of the intended plans concerning its cross-border cooperation with the assistance of other organizational bodies of the Regional Office. Further, the Section of Foreign Relations is responsible for coordination of the cross-border activities with the assistance of institutions such as the South-Bohemian Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, the Association of towns and municipalities of South Bohemia, The University of South Bohemia, the Regional Development Agency, Euro regions, et cetera. It should also coordinate the relations with the international institutions, organizations and foreign embassies located in South Bohemia and the Czech Republic. The Section also serves as a contact place for the foreign visitors. These activities are to be carried out for the purpose of creating a good image of the Region of South Bohemia.

The Region of South Bohemia - Brussels Office

The Region of South-Bohemia has had its office opened in Brussels on 1st April 2004. An employee authorised by the Office management is to be contacted in case more information is required.
